In his Autumn/Winter 2026 collection “DISSPARATION,” Ziggy Chen lets the clothes enter before the body. Layers of wool, hemp and silk trail across the runway like a raincloud skimming the ridgeline: dense yet strangely weightless, shifting the air before the wearer’s silhouette fully comes into focus.
The wayfarer on a mountain road
This season, Ziggy’s long‑standing “intellectual nomad” evolves into something more specific: a herbalist moving between mountain paths and the city. Long coats, robe‑like shirts and wide, hakama‑esque trousers fall over the shoes and draw soft arcs across the wooden floor, as if the garments are testing the ground ahead while the body simply follows their lead. Slightly displaced plackets, exposed linings and visible seam allowances keep each look suspended in transit—never fully buttoned up, never entirely resolved.
Airiness as a road‑ready function
Here, fluidity is engineered rather than decorative. Trousers are traced with straps and buttons that cinch and release along the leg, so fabric coils and loosens over the shoes with every step, creating a movable shield around the lower body. Chunky leather boots, capped with metal plates and reinforced stitching, sit on Vibram soles that quietly anchor the collection in performance: the grip, weight and durability of outdoor footwear folded into a refined, almost armoured silhouette. In this context, airiness becomes a form of road‑ready utility rather than pure romance.
