J.L-A.L was founded in 2020 by London-based designer Jean-Luc Ambridge Lavelle, with a focus on merging technical functionality with experimental craftsmanship. Lavelle began with self-taught pattern-making and basic sewing skills, creating outerwear that combined practicality with inventive design. Over time, the brand has developed into a refined yet functional collection, with jackets, sweaters, and trousers primarily made from triple-layered textiles for durability. Taped seams, zippered vents, and carefully placed pockets enhance both utility and subtle detailing, shaping J.L-A.L\u2019s approach to technical menswear.<\/p>

For Autumn\/Winter 2025, J.L-A.L draws inspiration from the 1973 animated film La Plan\u00e8te Sauvage, reworking traditional tailoring into shapes that feel less rigid and more organic. The collection explores the relationship between structure and transformation, using asymmetry and textile manipulation to challenge the conventional form of menswear.<\/p>

This season includes a padded bag with a rounded, sea urchin-like form, finished with small metallic details that create a textured surface. A gradient wool suit, developed with Italian mill Manteco, shifts seamlessly in tone, adding depth and movement to an otherwise structured silhouette. A wool-alpaca coat, treated with layering and heat compression techniques, results in a sculpted, textured finish that gives the outerwear a more dimensional appearance.<\/p>

Accessories complement the collection\u2019s focus on form and material. Victoria Ohanyan has designed handmade beaded belts and bag straps, adding intricate craftsmanship to the look.
